Year 13, the end of A levels, the end of school for most students. Our beloved students of the second year of the sixth form had their graduation on Saturday, April 27th 2019. The event took place in our school’s prestigious auditorium at early evening from around 4 pm. The A levels graduation may have been comparatively smaller in duration, but was definitely as extravagant as the O Levels graduation. The hosts for the evening were Sukhjeev Singh and Sara Toofail who were exemplary in making sure that the event ran smoothly, along with their fellow year 12 peers who helped host the graduation.

The event started off with our hosts welcoming our guests, graduates and teachers which was then followed with our head of school, Mister Frank Scarcelli to say a few words of inspiration to our graduates. Mister Hamsath, the class teacher of year 13 was then asked to join Mister Scarcelli on stage after his speech as each graduate was called individually and cheered upon to come and collect their certificates, which in their eyes were their distinction of success.
After each graduate got a hold of their certificates and returned back to their seats, two students, Raiaan Mubashir and Kunaal Dembla were called to the podium to give their farewell speech which looked back upon their memories throughout their life at Dubai Scholars. Sir Anwar, the head of the Sixth Form was then asked to give the vote of thanks for the occasion. |
The event came to a very emotional and wholesome end. The graduates at the end of the ceremony, on the count of three, threw their hats in the air to commemorate their time at school. However, this wasn’t the end of it. The junior batch of the sixth form, the year 12 students decided to put up a small video which was a collection of all the wonderful moments, occasions and memories of the year 13 students.
I think we can all agree that no matter what happens, a small part of all these graduates will forever remain in the school’s halls and that all those graduated would go on to live their best life and would have school memories remembering and cherishing. |
